September Book Review: A Short, Practical Read on Habits, Routines & Growth.
It was a sunny Sunday afternoon, and I was headed out to hang out with my book buddies. Little did I know that our September book pick would quickly become one of my new favorites and a personal growth book I’ll be recommending for a long time.
The review was both onsite and online, and from the energy of the discussions to the lessons from the book itself, I left feeling motivated, equipped, and pumped to form new habits.
I wore my favorite straw hat, It was either that or a sunshade .I decided to go with the straw hat because it complemented my lovely dress and yes, I must mention my lovely dress, which (by the way) was a thoughtful gift from a friend it made the afternoon even more special.
Why This Book Stood Out
This September book review was refreshing because the book was:
Easy to read – no heavy jargon, just simple and relatable writing.
Practical – filled with illustrations that mirror real life.
Short but impactful – every chapter had a clear takeaway.
One of the standout lessons for me was the power of routines. The author showed how small, consistent habits can shape long-term success, and it made me rethink how I structure my daily activities.
A Favorite Quote
Books often leave us with one or two lines that stick forever. For me, it was this:
“Some people you spend 3 minutes with, others 3 hours and both can change your life in different ways.”
This line from the book reminded me of the value of intentional connections and how time, whether short or long can create impact if used wisely.
The Book Club Experience
One of the best things about being part of a growth-oriented book club is not just reading the book, but also learning from others readers perspectives. During this review session, I gained fresh insights from fellow readers that made the book even richer.
We shared our thoughts, took pictures, enjoyed light refreshments, and left feeling uplifted. Between the inspiring conversations and my confidence-boosting outfit, it truly was an afternoon to remember.
Why I Recommend This Read
If you’re searching for a book that is light, practical, and inspiring, this one deserves a spot on your list. It’s the kind of self-help book that pushes you to take action immediately rather than just think about it.
And if you don’t yet have a group that keeps you accountable in your reading journey, what are you waiting for? Maybe this is your cue to join a book club that’s growth-oriented and discover how much more fun and powerful reading can be.
Final Thoughts
This September book review reminded me that the right book, read with the right community, can spark lasting change. From the power of routines to practical life lessons, I walked away not just inspired but also challenged to step up my game.
Until the next pick here’s to books that make us better (and friends who gift us lovely dresses)
